A 'captivating' drama series described as a' towering achievement in television storytelling' is returning to Netflix after five years. The West Wing, created by Aaron Sorkin and widely regarded as one of the best political dramas ever to air on TV, originally ran on NBC between 1999 and 2006.
While it first aired over 25 years ago, The West Wing has maintained a dedicated following thanks to its sharp script and compelling characters.
The show also boasts some huge names, including Martin Sheen, Rob Lowe, Allison Janney, Bradley Whitford, Stockard Channing and Elisabeth Moss.
UK fans will now be able to revisit the series on Netflix from December 9, five years after it was removed from Netflix in the US according to NME.
The Netflix synopsis for The West Wing reads: "This powerful political epic chronicles the triumphs and travails of White House senior staff under the administration of President Josiah Bartlet."
The show runs over seven seasons and has won three Golden Globe Awards, as well as 26 Primetime Emmy Awards, including the award for Outstanding Drama Series, which it won four times in a row between 2000 to 2003.
On Rotten Tomatoes, viewers have shared their thoughts on The West Wing, with many hailing it as one of the greatest shows ever made.
