The central government has taken away the financial powers of the Lt Governor of Ladakh and further those powers are now to be taken by the Ministry of Home Affairs. As per the new guidelines, the Home Ministry is now empowered to approve schemes and projects up to Rs 100 crore. These powers were previously vested in the Lieutenant Governor.
