Kohli made a unique record in Raipur ODI

Raipur: Indian cricket team’s leading batsman Virat Kohli set a new record by scoring a brilliant century in the ODI against South Africa held in Raipur. This innings of Kohli not only strengthened his team but also gave a special achievement, which no other player had done till now.

Kohli’s amazing performance

In this match, Virat Kohli played a balanced and effective innings and scored 102 runs in 93 balls, in which he hit 7 fours and 2 sixes. This is his 11th international century against South Africa. With this, Virat Kohli has become the first player in the world to score 10 or more international centuries against four different teams. These teams are Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies and South Africa.

Kohli set a new record

This record was not achieved by any batsman before Kohli. After Virat, this list includes legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting and Kumar Sangakkara. However, these three great players managed to score more than 10 centuries against only three teams.

Virat Kohli has achieved another important achievement in this match. He has equaled Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most centuries in the first innings in the ODI format at his home ground (India). Kohli established this record in 58 innings, while Sachin had scored 13 centuries in 75 ODI matches.

India scored a huge score

In Raipur ODI, South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl first. Virat Kohli and Rituraj Gaikwad both played century innings for India. Team India made a huge score of 358 runs in the stipulated 50 overs, leaving South Africa to score 359 runs to win the match.
