Devavrat Rekhe Kashi Honours: 19 year old Vedamurthy Devvrat Mahesh Rekhe of Maharashtra has created a new history by breaking a very special record of 200 years. He has completed the entire solitary memorization of Madhyandini branch of Shukla Yajurveda. Young Vedamurthy Devvrat Mahesh Rekhe Ghanpathi completed Dandakram Parayan, the most difficult of the 8 forms of Vedapath, in just 50 days. He has also been honored for this.
In honor of this extraordinary work of Devvrat Rekhe, a procession was taken out in Kashi. The Rath Yatra started from the crossing till Mahmoorganj. The city turned into a vibrant Vedic festival with musical instruments, conch sounds and participation of more than 500 Vedic students. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honored Devavrata on the stage of Kashi Tamil Sangamam organized at Namo Ghat two days ago.
Shankaracharya’s special message recited at the ceremony
Devotees welcomed this procession as a divine journey by showering flowers at various places. A special message from Sringeri Sharda Peethadhishwar Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Teerth Mahasannidhanam was also recited in the function.
This parayan has been completed only three times
Scholars have described Dandakrama as the crown jewel of the Vedic text because its vowel patterns and complex phoneme sequences are extremely difficult. Scholars said that this Parayana has been completed only three times in known history. It is also said that the recital of Devavrata has been completed flawlessly and in the shortest possible time. This Parayan ran from 2 October to 30 November at Vallabharam Shaligram Savvade Vidyalaya. Sages and dignitaries praised the young scholar and his teacher, Vedabrahmashree Mahesh Chandrakant.
Coming generations will remember: Modi
PM Modi has written in a post on social media – Coming generations will remember what 19 year old Vedamurthy Devvrat Mahesh Rekhe did. Every person who loves Indian culture is proud of him that he completed Dandakram Parayanam consisting of 2000 mantras of Madhyandini branch of Shukla Yajurveda in 50 days without any interruption. In this many Vedic verses and sacred words were recited without mistake. He is the best example of our Guru tradition. Being an MP from Kashi, I am very happy that this unique work happened in this holy city. My respect to his family, saints, sages, scholars and organizations across the country who supported him.
