Craig Morgan remembers son Jerry 9 years after his demise: 'We just have to live with the suck'

Craig Morgan , who lost his 19-year-old son Jerry 9 years ago, recently opened up about how he and his family have dealt with the loss and how much it affects them even after all these years.

He reflected on the tragedy and revealed that while the situation is hard, he and his wife, Karen, try their best to honour his memory.

He shared during the podcast that “A lot of people seek out the reason why God let that happen. Was it because of this?” and then added that he tends to avoid asking such questions anymore. While detailing why, the country musician added that, “All you’re doing is looking for justification. And for me, there is no justification. He’s gone, and that’s it.”

He also quoted his youngest son’s word as well, and stated that he told him that “‘We just have to live with the suck for the rest of our lives.’” He further shared that while the whole family is extremely sad, and dearly misses Jerry, it will not waver his faith in God. He also added, “I think there’s moments in your life where you’re supposed to question Him (God). I think when you question God, your faith grows, because He educates you. Sometimes it just takes really s***** things.”

What happened to Craig Morgan’s son, JerryIn 2016, the second youngest son of Craig and Karen, Jerry, passed away in July. He passed away in a tubing accident on Kentucky Lake in Humphreys County, Tennessee. Three months after his son’s untimely demise, the musician released the song ‘The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost’ for him.

The couple has also shared that in order to honour their son’s name, they started the Jerry Greer Memorial Scholarship at their son’s alma mater, Dickson County High School.
