Ian Wright has confirmed Laura Woods is "fine" after she appeared to collapse live on ITV during England's friendly clash with Ghana on Tuesday night. Woods was hosting the ITV4 broadcast in Southampton when she suddenly fell forward.

Wright and Anita Asante caught Woods before the cameras cut away quickly. Audio briefly continued, capturing Wright asking Woods was OK before an ad break followed.

Woods provided an update on her health on her Instagram account. "Gosh that was a bit weird," she wrote. "Sorry to worry everyone, I’m Ok, the wonderful paramedics at Saints have said it’s probably a virus, just need a bit of rest and rehydration.

“I’m really embarrassed that happened on TV, but a big thank you to my colleagues at ITV who have really looked after me tonight. And to Wrighty and Neets for catching me, and sorry again x.”

Now, Wright has provided another positive update on Woods' welfare on the Stick to Football podcast. Before the chatter of football started, Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville both asked the former Arsenal and England forward how the 38-year-old was doing.

“She’s fine, I got a message this morning," he said. "It was worrying last night, but she’s fine.”

Jill Scott said: “She put a message around saying they think she has a virus, bless her. Must be horrible when that happens on TV.”

Before Roy Keane made light of the situation, joking: “Not the first woman to fall into your arms Ian?” Wright replied: “I can’t do anything around this guy!” And Keane added: “You’ll get a knighthood for that or something! You’ll get an award or something!”

Woods suffered another health incident last year when she had to drop out of hosting the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk fight after a freak accident left her with nasty injuries. On social media, she explained she had suffered an injury while on holiday with fiancée Adam Collard.

She wrote on Instagram: "Just wanted to explain my absence from the telly for a little while, to be totally transparent and avoid any speculation.

"I had an accident last weekend at a holiday cottage. I swung a pillow and hit a large, glass lampshade hanging from the ceiling above me, which shattered and cut my face and arms, but luckily missed my eye.

"I wanted to say a couple of thank yous, firstly to Adam, for being my hero that day, acting so quickly and not leaving my side since and to his family for taking care of me in a time when I was petrified.

"To my agents Alex Maguire and Matthew Odonohue at CAA who searched for the best help immediately. To Dr Yannis Alexandrides and his wonderful medical assistant Zuzanna at 111 who opened their emergency surgery and came in on their days off, they were so gentle and have already worked magic that I didn’t think was possible to reduce the damage."
