The Abandons has just landed on Netflix and the sweeping Western drama features a stellar cast, including Game of Thrones icon Lena Headey as Fiona Nolan.
In the series, the Irish force battles relentlessly to safeguard her territory and her adoptive offspring from European nobility, and it has already garnered glowing praise.
Lena Headey is a 52 year old British actress who achieved global fame portraying Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones. She was born in Bermuda, where her father, a Yorkshire police officer, was serving with the Bermuda Police Service in Hamilton.

She has a younger sibling named Tim, and at age five, her family relocated to England, settling in Somerset. Her acting potential was first spotted at 17 during a school performance at the Royal National Theatre.
Following this breakthrough, she secured a part in the 1992 film Waterland, launching a career that would flourish consistently.
Beyond the spotlight, the actress has been forthright about her private affairs and romantic partnerships, first wedding musician Peter Loughran in May 2007.
The couple welcomed son Wylie in 2010, and she has spoken frankly about experiencing postnatal depression after his arrival.
During filming of Game of Thrones' inaugural season, she revealed to The Edit that she felt "really horrendous" whilst shooting some of the distressing sequences. She confessed: "I was postnatally depressed, but I didn't know it. I saw a doctor for the medical check, and I just burst into tears.
"She said I was postnatally depressed and I went, 'Am I? Why is that?' I saw a great guy and he sorted me out, but I did the first year [on GoT] in that space, figuring out motherhood and going through a weird time personally. It was tricky."
In 2012, she filed for divorce, and by 2015, she welcomed her daughter, Teddy, with filmmaker Dan Cadan, an old friend who had collaborated with her on his short film The Devil's Wedding.
The couple were engaged, and she revealed to the New York Times: "I always said to him, 'Don't ever ask me to marry you, it's a disaster,' but it actually feels really wonderful."
However, by June 2019, they had parted ways, and later, in October 2022, Headey tied the knot with American actor Marc Menchaca, whom she had been seeing since 2020.
Menchaca, aged 50, is renowned for his leading role in Reparation and has also featured in Ozark, The Sinner, Manifest and The Outsider.
The couple exchanged vows in a private ceremony in Italy, attended by several of her Game of Thrones co-stars, including Sophie Turner and Peter Dinklage.
