New Delhi:There have been many stars in Bollywood who were seen playing characters with the same name again and again. Like Salman Khan’s ‘Prem’ and Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Rahul’. But in this matter, both the daughters of Kapoor family, Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor have also made a unique record. Both of them have played the character named ‘Pooja’ in a total of 9 films in their career. Let us know whose film was a hit and which flopped.

Karisma Kapoor became ‘Pooja’ five times

1. Khuddaar (1994) – Above Average

This film of Govinda and Karishma was a Tamil remake. Made on a budget of around Rs 2 crore, this film earned more than Rs 4 crore. Karishma played the character of ‘Pooja’ in it.

2. Biwi No. 1 (1995)-Superhit

People liked Karisma’s role of Pooja Mehra with Salman Khan very much. The film costing around Rs 12 crores did a business of around Rs 50 crores. That means it was a superhit.

3. Saajan Chale Sasural (1996)-Superhit

Karishma played the role of Pooja Daschandani in this comedy film of Govinda-Kareena. It was included in the most profitable films of that year.

4. Saput (1996)-Flop

Karishma’s name was Pooja Singhania in this film with Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty. Despite good earnings, the film was considered a flop.

5. Yes Maine Pyaar Kiya (2002)-Flop

Karisma was ‘Pooja Kashyap’ in this romantic film made with Akshay and Abhishek. Despite earning Rs 19 crore at a cost of Rs 11 crore, the film did not perform at the box office.

Kareena Kapoor became ‘Pooja’ four times

1. Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001)-Blockbuster

Kareena’s ‘Poo’ i.e. Pooja style is popular even today. This film of Karan Johar earned more than 135 crores and created a new record in foreign markets.

2. Mujhe Kuchh Kahna Hai (2001)-Superhit

Kareena played Pooja Saxena in this film with Tusshar Kapoor. The film, made for Rs 7 crores, achieved superhit status by doing a business of Rs 29 crores.

3. Live Only for Me (2002)-Flop

Pairing up with Tusshar for the second time, Kareena was seen in the role of Pooja Khanna. This film did not perform at the box office.

4. Tashan (2008) – Below Average

Kareena once again becomes Pooja in this action-comedy with Akshay, Saif and Anil Kapoor. This film with a budget of Rs 31 crore was not particularly liked by the audience.

Overall, while Karisma gave two superhits by playing ‘Pooja’ five times, Kareena gave one big blockbuster (K3G) in four films. Interestingly, Karisma did not get a single blockbuster Pooja film, whereas Kareena’s ‘Poo’ is still considered iconic.
