Delhi defeated Karnataka by 45 runs in their Round 5 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) match on Thursday.

The win was largely thanks to a stellar performance from Ayush Badoni, who floored Karnataka with an all-round performance.

With this victory, Delhi moved up to third place in Elite Group D, behind Jharkhand and Rajasthan.

Despite a poor start with Yash Dhull dismissed cheaply for seven runs, Priyansh Arya and Badoni turned things around with a strong partnership.

They went after the bowlers, with Arya scoring an aggressive 62 off just 32 balls, including six sixes.

The duo put on a massive 110-run stand before Priyansh was dismissed by Shubhang Hegde in the 12th over.

Badoni ended up with a quickfire 53 off 30 balls. He was dismissed by Hegde in the next over.

Delhi's bowlers wreaked havoc on Karnataka, with Badoni picking up a four-wicket haul.

The opposition was bundled out for 187 in just 19.3 overs.

Badoni bowled 2 overs and picked 4/12 to stun Karnataka. He dismissed the likes of Smaran Ravichandran (72), Vidyadhar Patil (11), Praveen Dubey (10) and Shreyas Gopal (0).

The likes of Ishant Sharma, Digvesh Singh Rathi and Prince Yadav picked two wickets each.
