On the third day of his visit to Japan, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has again secured an investment of Rs 500 crore. According to the agreement, Japanese company Aichi Steel has assured to increase cooperation with Vardhman Special Steels in the state. The heads of both the companies signed the agreement in the presence of the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister has described this agreement as very important for the development of the state. He said that Aichi Steel Corporation is known as the steel arm of Toyota.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Told that Aichi Steel already has about 24.9 percent stake in Vardhaman. It is a symbol of the strength of India-Japan partnership in the industrial environment of Punjab. The steel company will study future factory operations in Punjab, including assessment for a potential investment of approximately Rs 500 crore.

Aichi invited to Punjab Investor Conference

Chief Minister Mann also invited Aichi to participate in the Progressive Punjab Investors Conference 2026 to be held at Indian School of Business, Mohali from March 13-15, 2026. Bhagwant Mann said that this conference reflects the development of Punjab. He expressed hope that Japanese investors will participate in this conference on a large scale, which will give a huge boost to the industrial development of the state.

Bhagwant Mann said that our government aims to create new opportunities for the youth and create an environment of trust for investors. He also said that our relations with Japan are already strong. Many big Japanese companies have expressed their confidence in Punjab. The Punjab government is highlighting the industrial capabilities of the state, exploring new areas of cooperation and deepening its long-standing partnership with Japanese industry.

Punjab a business-friendly state

Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punjab is one of the most business-friendly states. The Government of India has recognized Punjab as a leader in the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP) 2024 ranking. Punjab's vision is to work closely with partners and industries, understand their needs and ensure growth from the government's side.
