Traffic Police Robot: Artificial Intelligence around the world (AI) and robotics are increasingly taking over human tasks, and China has become the biggest example of this. For the first time, the traffic police in Hangzhou city of Zhejiang province was replaced by a unique AI robot Has been deployed, named “Hangjin No. 1”. This robot will not only enforce traffic rules but will also help in eliminating major problems like bribery.
AI robot will give orders for traffic rules
This robot, developed by Hangzhou Traffic Police Tactical Unit, was launched on the city streets as a trial on Tuesday. Hangjin No.1 is equipped with high-definition cameras, sensors and intelligent voice system. It instructs pedestrians and vehicles to follow traffic rules in real time. According to people, the orders of the robot are very clear and accurate, which will reduce the dependence on the traffic police.
Bribery may be banned
Experts believe that if such robots are deployed throughout China, then bribery in the traffic police can be stopped to a great extent. The robot is neither afraid, nor tired, nor does it take money. Because of this, traffic rules can be followed strictly and impartially.
Will make smart traffic management easier
The most special thing about this robot is its fast mobility. It can reach different intersections instantly. Currently it is working in two modes
- Directing traffic while standing in the middle of the road
- giving directions at intersections
- Despite being in the pilot phase, it is already attracting people’s attention. Many pedestrians said that as soon as they started crossing the line, the robot immediately alerted them.
AI system gives immediate warning
“I was just crossing half a meter of the line when the robot immediately stopped me. Its reaction is extremely fast,” said a pedestrian. A bike rider said, “As soon as you see a robot in front, you automatically stop.”
More advanced facilities will be available in future
Hangjin No.1 will later be linked to larger language models. With this, it will not only do voice interaction but will also be able to handle command control. A video of it is going viral on social media in which it is seen in yellow and black color controlling the traffic on the roads in a professional style. Earlier, a robot named “Xiao Hu” was also seen working like a traffic police in Shanghai.
