YouTube typically releases its annual Recap toward the end of the year, aligning with other major platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. For 2025, YouTube Recap began rolling out in late November and early Decemberdepending on your region and account type.
Unlike some platforms that drop their year-in-review on a single global date, YouTube’s release happens in waves. That means some users may see their Recap earlier, while others might get it a few days later as the feature becomes available worldwide.
The Recap becomes accessible directly through the YouTube app and YouTube Music appand you’ll usually see a banner on the homepage once your personalized Recap is ready. Since YouTube gathers watch history data from January through late October, the Recap release window only begins after that data collection period has closed.
If you still don’t see your Recap even after it has officially rolled out, it may be due to eligibility issues, insufficient watch history, or account restrictions.
