Ranveer Singh’s high-stakes espionage thriller *Dhurandhar* releasing in theaters on December 5, 2025, marks his comeback after a two-year break with *Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani*. Directed, written and produced by Aditya Dhar (*Uri: The Surgical Strike*), the film – the first part of a two-part story – is based on true events, blending underworld intrigue with patriotic fervor and Shakespearean deception. Backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, and produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, the film is 3 hours 32 minutes long – and has received an A certificate for graphic violence.

Ranveer plays Major Mohit/Hamza Ali Mazari, an undercover agent who infiltrates Pakistan’s terror networks after the 1999 IC-814 hijack and the 2001 Parliament attack, in R. Works under Madhavan’s Ajay Sanyal (inspired by NSA Ajit Doval). The entire cast is fantastic: Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal as dangerous Pakistani terrorists, Akshaye Khanna as a mysterious villain, Sara as Arjun’s love interest, and Akash Khurana and Rakesh Bedi in cameo roles. The eight-chapter story spans eight years, featuring everything from covert operations to brutal confrontations, featuring original footage and a climax that hints at a sequel.

X पर ज़बरदस्त रिएक्शन आ रहे हैं, औसत 3.5-4/5 स्टार मिल रहे हैं और इसे “2025 की सबसे बड़ी ब्लॉकबस्टर” कहा जा रहा है। Fans are praising Ranveer’s “career-defining” intensity: “The guts, the emotion, the raw power – got goosebumps from the very first frame!” His vulnerable close-ups and power-packed entry gave a “pure mass” feel. Akshay’s “aura” steals the scene (“One-man show!”), while Madhavan’s sincerity and Rampal’s menace add to the excitement of the entire cast. Aditya’s “brilliant storytelling” and “smooth action” (choreographed chases, graphic fights) keep the beats pounding, and the BGM (songs by Arijit Singh, Diljit Dosanjh) is the “second hero”. Critics also agree with the hype: Bollywood Hungama (3/5) calls it a “big-screen experience” with “top-notch craft”, and praises Ranveer’s “wonderful” vulnerability. Hindustan Times calls it a “brutal cinematic ride—emotional, action-packed”, while some point out the “very thin story” and slow start (“the 50-minute premise feels tiresome”). Visual shortcomings include soft 2K visuals and CGI glitches, but the “value for money” verdict prevails: “A must-watch for those who love raw, intense action!”

Bulk bookings indicate that *Kalamkaval* will have an opening of over ₹20 crore despite the clash; The sequel will release on March 19, 2026. Ranveer’s “befitting reply to the haters” makes *Dhurandhar* a patriotic powerhouse film—go to IMAX for the thrill.
