Internet Down: Millions of users around the world were seen struggling with the problem of sudden stoppage of internet services. Many websites and online platforms were shut down simultaneously, behind which the leading content delivery network (CDN) company Cloudflare is being held responsible. As soon as many popular sites stopped working, users flooded social media with complaints.
Many big websites were affected
The direct impact of the technical glitch in Cloudflare’s service was seen on websites used by millions of users like Canva, Downdetector. Due to this, the work of many users in India and abroad came to a halt and error messages started appearing on the platforms. India’s big trading platforms like Groww and Zerodha were also affected by this outage. Many users reported that they were having trouble making online payments and some banking pages were also not loading.
Users raised questions on social media
After the sudden stoppage of internet services, users first resorted to X. People started asking questions about why many websites were down simultaneously. Some users described it as a “global internet issue,” while many held Cloudflare directly responsible.
Cloudflare’s official statement released
As the technical glitches increased, a response from the company also emerged. Cloudflare said, “The entire issue is being investigated and efforts are underway to fix our dashboard as well as application programming interfaces (APIs).” According to the company, it was also noted on their status page that some customers were seeing error messages on the dashboard and website, which are being fixed in a phased manner.
Services stopped for the second time in a month
It is worth noting that this is not the first case of Cloudflare’s services being affected. About a month ago also, a large number of websites had suddenly gone down. Even at that time, investigation had revealed that due to technical problems in Cloudflare’s servers, many sites had stopped working. Cloudflare provides content delivery services for large websites around the world. In such a situation, any kind of technical problem in its servers directly impacts millions of websites and internet services.
