A major employment opportunity is coming for the youth of Bihar. The state government has decided to fill long-standing vacant positions in the Forest Department. Emphasis has also been placed on promoting the planting of fruit-bearing and healthy trees, maintaining parks, and strengthening eco-tourism in the state. The government plans to encourage the public to plant trees to protect the environment and promote greenery.
Qualifications
Educational qualifications vary for different positions in the department. For Forest Guard and Forester, applicants must have a 12th-grade degree and knowledge of typing or shorthand. For Clerk and Stenographer positions, applicants must have a 12th-grade degree with an ITI or diploma in a relevant trade. For Driver positions, a 10th-grade degree and a valid driving license are required. Graduation is mandatory for higher positions such as Assistant Forest Conservator or Field Officer.
Age Limit
The age limit for these positions is generally between 18 and 35 years. OBC, SC, and ST candidates will receive age relaxation based on reservation requirements, as per government regulations.
Application Fee
General and OBC category candidates may be charged an estimated fee of ₹300 to ₹500, while for SC, ST, and female candidates, the fee may be lower, around ₹100 to ₹200.
Selection Process
The selection process will vary by position, but most positions will require a written examination. Field positions such as Forest Guard and Forester will also include a physical test, which will assess physical abilities such as running, height, and chest measurement. Separate skill tests will be conducted for typing and steno positions. A driving test will be required for the driver position. Final selection will be based on document verification and merit.
