zuckerbergwashington. Mark Zuckerberg, who heads popular social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, has taken a big decision regarding the future of the company. Under the leadership of Mark Zuckerberg, Meta has planned to make a major cut in the budget of its Metaverse project. Some time ago, the company had started the Metaverse by bringing the platforms under one company and had decided to invest billions of dollars in it. However, now Zuckerberg wants to completely join the race of artificial intelligence. This decision being taken by the company may also affect the employees working in Meta. There may also be layoffs there early next year.

According to Bloomberg report, Zuckerberg had announced a few days ago that a new AI design studio is being created under the AR and VR department under Metaverse. In this, AI powered wearable devices like smart glasses will be made. For this, the company has also employed Apple’s top designer Alan Day.

Giving information about this new plan, Meta spokesperson said that the company is withdrawing some part of its investment from those labs of Meta. In return, work will be done on AI glasses and wearables here.

It is noteworthy that in 2021, Zuckerberg brought together platforms like Facebook and Instagram and changed the name of the company from Facebook to Meta. Describing Meta as the future of the social media world, Zuckerberg had also invested a large amount in it. But due to low interest of people and increasing influence of AI, the company did not get much benefit in this project. According to reports, the company has so far suffered a loss of about 70 billion dollars in this project.
