India’s star player Ravichandran Ashwin had announced his retirement from international cricket during the 2024-25 Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024-25). Ashwin also recently retired from the Indian Premier League (IPL). But now Ashwin has to once again enter the field wearing the Team Indian jersey. Ashwin himself has confirmed that he will play for the Indian team in the Hong Kong Sixes Tournament.
Ravichandran Ashwin’s return
Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin is going to start a new career after retiring from IPL. He can now play in any cricket league in the world. This new journey for Ashwin will start from the Hong Kong Sixes Tournament. Many veteran Indian players have previously participated in this tournament. Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik and Anil Kumble have all played in this tournament, and now Ravichandran Ashwin is also ready to play in it.
The Hong Kong Sixes Tournament will be played from 7 to 9 November. The official social media handles of Cricket Hong Kong China have also announced Ashwin’s participation in the tournament. Ashwin said that this new format will require a different strategy and this tournament will be very exciting. He added that he is very excited to play with his old teammates.
