Guwahati, Dec 6: The District Transport Office of Kamrup (Metro) is set to restart its popular initiative, "Services to the People, at the Doorsteps of the People," which aims to deliver essential transport services directly to residents.
Starting tomorrow, the Transport Department will implement this doorstep service initiative throughout all five revenue circles in the Kamrup (Metro) district.
According to Special Duty Officer Gautam Das, "Technical challenges and a lack of public awareness have hindered some vehicle owners in Guwahati from fully utilizing various services. To address this, the DTO has been conducting outreach efforts to assist those unable to access online services."
To promote safe and accident-free celebrations as the year ends, the department will host an event at the Digaru High School playground in Digaru.
This initiative is in line with the Chief Minister’s goal of making Assam an accident-free state, urging all vehicle users to play their part. The campaign will offer vital vehicle services, including on-the-spot updates of vehicle documents, immediate issuance of learner’s licenses, tax assistance, and other essential services for safe travel.
The Greater Digaru Conscious Citizens’ Forum has shown support for tomorrow's program, with over 200 vehicle owners already confirming their attendance.
