Registration for the Rabi 2025-26 season under the scheme has begun. This scheme provides financial security to farmers against crop losses due to natural calamities, pests, and diseases. The objective of the scheme is to stabilize agricultural production, increase farmers' income, and reduce farming risks. This insurance scheme, implemented annually, provides farmers with comprehensive coverage at minimal premium rates.

Rabi crops covered under PMFBY include wheat, gram, mustard, barley, peas, lentils, etc. Under the scheme, farmers receive insurance claims as compensation for crop damage caused by any natural calamity such as drought, flood, hailstorm, storm, or excessive rainfall. This claim is deposited directly into the farmer's bank account after a survey and verification process.

Farmers need to keep some essential documents ready for registration for Rabi 2025-26:
Aadhaar Card
Land documents such as Khasra or Khatauni
Land lease agreement if the farmer is a tenant farmer
Bank account with the correct IFSC code
Mobile number

How to Apply
The application process has now been made easier for farmers. Farmers can insure their crops from the comfort of their homes without any hassle. This can be done using the Crop Insurance app. Alternatively, registration can also be easily done by visiting the official PMFBY website. This ensures that every farmer can benefit from the scheme.

Application Process
To apply, farmers can visit the pmfby.gov.in portal and select the "Apply for Crop Insurance" option in the Farmer Corner section. After logging in using their Aadhaar and mobile number, they can fill in the crop and sowing details and upload the required documents. After verification of the information, the farmer can pay the premium and complete the application. Upon successful registration, an online receipt is generated, which should be kept safe. Registration for Rabi crops will be open only until December 31st. Farmers can register on time and get insurance for this season's crop.
