Manchester United honoured Luke Shaw, presenting the defender with a gift to mark his 300th match for the club. The 30-year-old has been a fixture at Old Trafford since 2014, having made a name for himself with a series of standout performances at Southampton.
Shaw has faced numerous hurdles since making the move, particularly with injuries. But he has now fought back from multiple setbacks to reclaim his place in the United squad.
Under Ruben Amorim, the England international has taken on a different role than earlier in his career. Instead of playing as a full-back who pushes on, he operates more as a left-sided centre-back.

This change may help Shaw maintain his fitness for longer stretches of the season, with less physical demand placed on him than charging up and down the wings. Having returned to the starting line-up in recent weeks, Shaw made his 300th appearance for the club against Crystal Palace, contributing to a 2-1 victory at Selhurst Park.
It was a milestone moment for Shaw, which the club celebrated by presenting him with a framed collection of photos and a shirt bearing the number 300. The presentation was made by director of football Jason Wilcox, who delivered a heartfelt speech in front of the rest of the staff in the canteen at Carrington.
Whilst it proved to be a heart-warming occasion, Shaw reportedly felt embarrassed about the recognition, according to The Sun, who suggest he was unsure about the club creating such a fuss over the milestone.
It was an achievement that has taken considerable time to reach, with the defender likely to have racked up far more appearances had it not been for his fitness problems.
That was an observation made by United legend Denis Irwin, who praised Shaw on the Inside Carrington podcast. He said: "He has been blighted with injuries, Luke, but I've got to say every manager, when he is fit, has picked him".
"He has started every Premier League game this season so that tells you that Ruben is definitely backing him. He was brilliant [against Palace] and his recovery in a couple of tackles was needed by the way and particularly in the first half.
"It suits him to play in that left centre-half [role]. We know he can play the wing-back role, but relating it myself, I would have been more comfortable in that left centre-back role rather than being a wing-back. He has been fantastic for us this season."
