TV chef Jamie Oliver has enjoyed a successful career as a cookbook author and starred in several TV shows. The 50-year-old, who has Poppy, Daisy, Petal, Buddy, and River with his wife, Jools, resides in Essex with his family when he's not appearing on our screens. The lavish property, which he purchased in 2019, spans 70 acres of land and features ten bedrooms, a grand hall, and two drawing rooms. The historic home is reportedly worth a whopping £6 million, and the grounds also have stables and a three-bedroom lodge. Jamie regularly shares glimpses of his family home with his followers on social media, showing off his terrace and walled garden.
His home boasts a rustic countryside aesthetic, with his kitchen featuring an island unit, wooden panelling and tiled flooring. There is also a ginormous playroom and a bathroom with elaborate wallpaper designs.
Jamie's bedroom also apparently features patterned wallpaper and a vintage white headboard. His kitchen also boasts an impressive collection of mugs, cookbooks, and eggcups.
The TV chef told The Times: "No one really knows why I bought this house. I don't feel ready to share yet... But if I were just being media savvy, I wouldn't have moved there when everything was going wrong.
"There was a whole host of things that were quite specific, quite intimate... I don't care what anyone thinks. They don't need to know. It's an old gaff that's falling down; only an idiot would buy it. But to have come from where I was born to that house that's only had three families owning it in 600 years, for me as a kid that went through special needs in school, it's social mobility."
In May 2019, it was announced that his restaurant chain, Jamie's Italian, had entered administration, and 22 sites were subsequently closed. Approximately 1,000 employees lost their jobs, but Oliver was criticised as he walked away with a £5.2 million paycheck.
Jamie had his big break in 1997 as a sous chef in the River Café's documentary and has since enjoyed a glittering TV career.
In 2024, Jamie and Jools renewed their vows in a distinctively Las Vegas-style ceremony. The original ceremony, held in July 2000, was relived at the iconic Graceland Wedding Chapel, accompanied by an Elvis impersonator.
