Jabalpur: 6 people hit by goods train at Madan Mahal station, 1 woman died, 5 including 3 children seriously injured.

Jabalpur: A horrific accident took place at Madan Mahal railway station in the city late on Saturday night. One woman died on the spot after being hit by a speeding goods train on platform number one, while five people, including two women and three children, were seriously injured. There was chaos at the station after the incident. All the injured have been immediately admitted to the Medical College Hospital, where their condition remains critical.

How did this tragic accident happen?

According to the information, this family is a resident of Narsinghpur and was traveling by Jan Shatabdi Express coming from Bhopal to Jabalpur. After the train reached Madan Mahal station, all six members of the family got down on platform number one. It is being told that after alighting, he was walking in the wrong direction on the platform itself, during which a goods train coming from the other side hit him.

As soon as the information about the accident was received, the RPF and Madanmahal police station deployed on the spot immediately came into action. Among the top officials, CSP Ritesh Kumar Shiv and RPF post in-charge Sujit Kumar also reached the spot and sent the injured to the hospital for treatment.

Identification of dead and injured

According to the police, 30-year-old Pushpa Sondhiya lost her life in this accident. The injured include 22-year-old Shivani Patel, resident of village Mudiya in Narsinghpur district, 40-year-old Nanhi Bai along with 4-year-old Reeti Patel and 2-year-old Indrajit Patel. Police is trying to find out for what purpose this family had come from Narsinghpur to Jabalpur.
