Guwahati, Dec 7: On December 9, Assam will see the release of funds under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for approximately 3.70 lakh new beneficiaries.
This announcement was made by Ranjeet Kumar Dass, the Minister for Panchayat & Rural Development, who indicated that the fund distribution will occur during a centralized ceremonial event in Boko, co-led by the Chief Minister and himself.
“We have sanctioned nearly 3.70 lakh homes under this initiative, and an additional 12,000 houses will also be distributed. The Chief Minister and I will oversee the central ceremonial distribution on December 9. Concurrently, meetings will be organized in each constituency, where the initial PMAY fund installment will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the new beneficiaries,” Dass stated.
Beneficiaries receiving the first installment will be able to commence the construction of their homes without delay.
District administrations have been instructed to ensure all necessary arrangements are in place for the effective execution of this program.
The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is a key housing initiative by the central government, designed to achieve 'Housing for All' by providing financial assistance to economically weaker sections, low-income groups, and rural households for constructing permanent residences.
