If you are an iPhone user then you must go through this important article. Apple a tech giant known for its strict focus on privacy and security has recently issued a clear warning to iPhone users. It is related to the usage of certain web browsers. While Apple stated that Chrome doesnt adequately protect users’ privacy its own Safari does help protect your privacy as reported by Forbes. One of the concerns raised by Apple is a secretive technique called “fingerprinting. Safari works to prevent advertisers and websites from using the unique combination of characteristics of your device to create a ‘fingerprint’ to track you. These characteristics include the device and browser configuration and fonts and plug-ins you have installed. To combat fingerprinting Safari presents a simplified version of the system configuration so more devices look identical to trackers making it harder to single yours out. reads the official website of Apple. According to Forbes fingerprinting gathers a variety of unrelated data points from your device and combines them to create a unique trackable identity. Apple is not the only company working to block this—other browsers are taking similar measures. Mozilla has updated Firefox to obscure these signals as well. According to Apple Safari masks the true identity of the users mobile device with a generic “phone” identity and therefore all devices will appear as one device to tracking companies. Millions of devices are represented in the same way which makes it more difficult for the tracking companies to determine the individual user. Safari uses built-in Artificial Intelligence (AI) that is used to block tracking while still maintaining complete privacy of private browsing and does not access your location. Apple claims that Chrome does not possess any of the above abilities that Safari has. Google can track you even when using Safari. Most individuals utilize Google Search as their primary search engine in Safari. On every search results page Google displays a huge blue button located at the bottom of the webpage that says Try Google App. If you happen to hit the button by accident the Google app will open on your phone. According to Apple the Google app collects significantly more user data than Chrome does and also associates that data with your personal information. Therefore do not click that blue button under any circumstances.
