The legendary Tata Sierra has made a grand comeback by establishing a new national benchmark for fuel efficiency in a certified endurance run conducted at the NATRAX facility in Indore the SUV powered by the new 1 5 litre Hyperion turbo petrol engine entered the India Book of Records by clocking an impressive mileage of 29 9 kilometres per litre during a continuous twelve hour drive this remarkable feat was achieved by the Pixel Motion team who drove the vehicle from morning to evening with only minimal stops for driver changes on November 30 2025

Tata Motors Chief Product Officer Mohan Savarkar expressed immense pride in this achievement stating that the Hyperion engine platform was designed to push the boundaries of petrol powertrain performance and efficiency verifying its capability so early in the vehicle journey validates their engineering efforts the test was conducted under controlled conditions on the high speed track which allowed the engine to operate in its most efficient rpm range resulting in figures significantly higher than typical real world usage apart from efficiency the Sierra also demonstrated its raw power by hitting a certified top speed of 222 kilometres per hour in a separate performance test

The new generation Sierra which was launched recently features a futuristic design and advanced technology including the robust Hyperion engine that delivers 160 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque paired with a six speed automatic transmission for this specific record run the successful entry into the record books highlights the balance between power and fuel economy that Tata Motors aims to offer in the mid size SUV segment effectively challenging competitors and reasserting the brand legacy in the Indian automotive market
