  • According to psychologists, a person’s success does not depend only on IQ (intelligence); All four types of intelligence IQ, EQ, SQ and AQ are equally important in professional and personal life.
  • EQ (emotional intelligence) strengthens leadership and relationships by understanding one’s own and others’ emotions, while SQ (social intelligence) is essential for teamwork and networking.
  • AQ (Ability to Overcome Adversity) is one of the most important factors in today’s world, which helps a person to adapt to changing environment and survive in difficult situations.

What is IQ EQ SQ AQ : Often we assume that a person is very intelligent by seeing his academic talent. But, psychology argues that mental acuity cannot really be measured by academic achievement or logic alone. A person’s success, ability to think and understand the situation does not depend only on IQ (Intelligence Quotient). This is why today, IQ, EQ, SQ and AQ are considered equally important in professional and personal life.

For example, a person may be gifted in their work, but weak in communication. Conversely, another person may understand the situation in the room quickly, but may panic at math questions. This is why psychologists now consider these four Qs to be a comprehensive measure of mental ability.

IQ means thinking ability

IQ (Intelligence Quotient) stands for Intelligence Quotient. It shows a person’s ability to problem solve, remember things, and process information quickly. IQ plays an important role in school, college and technical careers, but according to experts, IQ alone does not guarantee success.

AQ stands for ability to overcome obstacles

AQ (Adversity Quotient) means ability to overcome adversity. AQ is the strength of a person, which helps them to face obstacles, stress and failures. In today’s fast paced world, AQ is one of the most talked about topics. True success lies in adapting to a changing environment. Those who persevere through difficult situations and thrive while learning, are considered to have strong AQ. Experts say that if there is a weak level in any of these four abilities, it can hinder a person’s development. IQ alone can make a person a good judge, but not a leader. Similarly, having EQ alone can help one behave well, but it can be detrimental in difficult situations. Hence, it is very important to maintain a balance between these four Q’s.
