German luxury carmaker Mercedes Benz has officially announced that it will increase the prices of its entire model range in India effective from the first of January 2026 citing rising input costs and inflationary pressures as the primary reasons for the decision. The company stated that the upward revision in prices is necessary to offset the increasing expenses associated with commodity prices and logistics which have impacted the overall cost of operations and manufacturing. While the automaker has been absorbing these rising costs to a significant extent it has now become imperative to pass on a portion of this burden to the customers to maintain a sustainable business model in the country. The price hike will apply to all models currently available in the Indian market ranging from the entry level luxury sedans like the A Class and C Class to top end SUVs and performance vehicles such as the G Wagon and Maybach series. This move follows a general trend in the automotive industry where manufacturers adjust pricing at the start of the calendar year to realign with economic shifts and currency fluctuations. Potential buyers who book their vehicles before the year ends might still be able to avail of the current pricing depending on the specific terms and dealership policies but all new invoices generated from January will reflect the revised higher rates. The company remains optimistic about the demand in the Indian luxury segment despite the price correction emphasizing that it continues to bring the latest technologies and world class products to its diverse customer base across the nation.
