According to experts, cyber criminals often target Gmail accounts through phishing links, malware attachments or fake login pages. As soon as any suspicious attempt occurs, Google’s security system immediately catches it and gives the user the opportunity to take action by alerting them. Experts say that if such messages are ignored, hackers can access email data, contact lists, banking information or social media accounts.

Google has advised users to take some necessary steps immediately in such times. The first step is to change your Gmail account password immediately. The password should be difficult to guess and contain a mix of letters, numbers and special symbols. The second important step is to enable two-step verification (2FA). This feature provides an additional layer of security to the account, so that no one can login to the account even if they know the password.
