A vile man has been jailed for raping two underage girls. Taranvir Galsinh, 45, raped a 14-year-old girl in a hotel before sexually assaulting a 12-year-old in his car.
A court heard how Galsinh, of Sunderland, lured the first victim to a hotel where he raped and sexually assaulted her, as well as paying her for having sex with him. He also sexually assaulted the girl in his car several times, including on one occasion when he tried to strangle her. The 45-year-old then raped a second young girl and sexually assaulted her in his vehicle.
Galsinh pleaded guilty to rape of a girl aged 13 to 15, two counts of rape under 13, intentional strangulation and three counts of paying for sexual services of a girl back in July. He also admitted to charges of sexual assault of a child, causing a child to engage in sexual activity, two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child and assault by penetration of a child.
The sick paedophile was jailed for 11 years and three months at Teesside Crown Court last week. He was also made subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and lifetime restraining orders against both girls.
Detective Constable Hanna Liddle, of Durham Police, said Galsinh "took advantage" of both of the victims who were forced to endure an "horrific ordeal". She commended both of the girls for their bravery throughout the case.
DC Liddle said: "This was an horrific ordeal for these girls and the consequences of Galsinh's actions will be felt for the rest of her life.
"What he did is unforgiveable. He took advantage of the girls and has shown no remorse for his actions.
"The girls have been incredibly brave throughout what has been an extremely difficult process for them to deal with.
"I hope they can begin to move on with their lives knowing he has been brought to justice."
