Wedding ceremonies are not just limited to the union of two; they entail a celebration a feast and rituals. Often it is considered synonymous with lavish buffets endless food counters and guests piling their plates high. From chaats to desserts food is usually the highlight of any wedding celebration. However this isnt the case for everyone. Recently filmmaker Karan Johar revealed that he never eats at a wedding. During a recent conversation with Kriti Kharbanda and Pulkit Samrat on The Manyavar Shaadi Show Karan admitted that despite attending countless weddings over the years he has never eaten at one. During the show while the three of them were discussing wedding essentials this revelation by the filmmaker came up. When Karan asked the couple about the non-negotiables at their wedding both Pulkit and Kriti promptly answered “Good food.” Kriti also shared a sweet and funny revelation. She said that Pulkit is fondly called “Annapurna” at home as he loves feeding people which is one of the reasons she decided to marry him. The conversation then shifted to how guests usually walk long passages to get food at weddings only to end up eating just two specific dishes. It was at this point that Karan made a shocking confession. He said “I have never eaten at a wedding. These long queues and standing in line for food… I also feel very awkward standing with a plate and eating. I never eat at weddings.” Star weddings and grand celebrations Ironically Karan Johar is often associated with some of the most glamorous weddings in recent times. The filmmaker recently hosted the wedding of US billionaire Rama Raju Mantena’s daughter Netra Mantena to Vamsi Gadiraju in Udaipur. The lavish celebration featured electrifying performances by Bollywood stars including Ranveer Singh Varun Dhawan Shahid Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit among others. International pop icon Jennifer Lopez also performed at the wedding turning the event into a full-blown concert. Yet despite being at the centre of such grand celebrations Karan maintains that he prefers to skip the food entirely. What’s next for Karan Johar Speaking of his work Karan Johars next production project is Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. The romantic comedy-drama will be headlined by Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday and is directed by Sameer Vidwans. The film explores the love story between a mama’s boy and a modern woman seeking 1990s-style old-school romance in the era of hook-ups. The film also marks Kartik and Ananya’s on-screen reunion after Pati Patni Aur Woh and is scheduled to release in theatres this Christmas on December 25.
