If your vehicle's pollution certificate has expired, get it renewed immediately, you will not be able to get petrol or diesel. This decision has been taken by the Delhi government.
The Delhi government, under Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, is continuously taking strict measures to combat pollution in Delhi. In this regard, another decision has been taken, according to which vehicles with expired pollution certificates or those without a valid pollution certificate will not be given petrol or diesel. This information was given by Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
Why was this decision taken?
Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that this important decision has been taken keeping in mind the pollution levels in Delhi. Under this, vehicles without a valid PUC (Pollution Under Control) certificate will not be given fuel. Such vehicles will also be fined. In addition, if any vehicle from outside Delhi that does not meet BS6 emission standards enters the city, it will be seized.
What other bans are in place?
It is worth noting that due to the continuously rising pollution levels, GRAP-4 (Graded Response Action Plan) is in effect in Delhi. Construction activities have been banned. There is also a complete ban on bringing in construction materials such as Badarpur (a type of sand) and other sand. Additionally, the use of diesel generators has also been banned.
How bad is the situation in Delhi?
It should be noted that pollution in Delhi has been continuously increasing since Diwali. On December 14, the average AQI in Delhi was above 400, while in many places it was recorded between 500 and 600. People are continuously criticizing the government over this. They say that the Delhi government, under Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has consistently failed on this front.
