New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh all-rounder Prashant Veer and Rajasthan batter Kartik Sharma hit the jackpot at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction on Tuesday as they became the joint-most expensive uncapped players in the league’s history. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) spent a whopping Rs 14.20 crore each to sign Prashant and Kartik at the auction in the UAE.
While Kartik is a young wicket-keeper batter who is known for his explosive hitting prowess, Prashant is a rising left-arm all-rounder from Uttar Pradesh.
Veer is a promising all-rounder who is known for his economical bowling and ability to play the big shots while finishing matches. He was one of the stand-out players in the UPT20 2025, smashing 320 runs and picking up 8 wickets in ten matches. He scored 320 runs at an impressive strike rate of over 155 while batting in the lower middle order.
