Doctors at King George Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, have developed a technology that can prove to be a game-changer in the safety of the elderly. With this new technology, location tracking facility has been added to dentures, so that elderly people suffering from dementia or diabetes can be easily found if they lose their way. Actually, a chip will be implanted in the tooth, which will have complete details of the patient.

Head of the Department of Prosthodontics, Crowns and Bridges of KGMU, Prof. Under the leadership of Puran Chand, Dr. Anushika Singh, Dr. Swarnim and Dr. Sadhna Singh developed this technology. This technology was awarded the first prize in the 53rd National Conference of the Indian Prosthodontic Society held in Mumbai. All three doctors were given this honor for their innovative work.

Pro. Puran Chand said that elderly people suffering from dementia often forget their home address or lose their way. In such a situation, this technology will help in tracking their location through dentures. Not only this, even if the elderly forget their dentures, they can also be found easily. This technology will also prove to be very useful for diabetic patients, because it will make their safety and monitoring easier.

This technology is embedded in dentures, which are devices that replace artificial teeth. Currently, the patent of this technology is in process, so its detailed name has not been made public yet. As soon as the patent is obtained, this technology will reach the common people.
