In a thrilling match at Wankhede Stadium, Wasim Iqbal once again showcased his batting prowess, leading India Seniors to victory in the Physical Disability T20 series. Iqbal scored an impressive unbeaten 85 runs off just 45 deliveries, enabling his team to successfully chase down India A's target of 143 runs on Wednesday, as reported by DCCI. The series will conclude with the third and final match scheduled for Thursday.

Iqbal's remarkable innings was the highlight of the second game. After winning the toss and opting to bat, India A managed to post a total of 143 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Key contributions came from Jitendra VN, who scored 35 not out, and Akash Patil, who added 37 runs. The duo formed a crucial partnership, adding 57 runs without losing their wicket after the team was struggling at 86 for six. Their efforts helped India A finish their innings on a positive note, with wickets shared among the bowlers from India Seniors.

In response, India Seniors chased the target with relative ease, largely due to Iqbal's outstanding performance. He hit eight boundaries and five sixes during his innings, forming a solid opening partnership of 50 runs with Vrushant Gunjal, who contributed 32 runs off 18 balls. India Seniors reached their target in just 14.5 overs, finishing at 144 for 3.

Players Cherish 'Surreal' Wankhede Experience

Reflecting on the matches played so far, India A captain Majid Margray expressed his excitement about competing at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. "It has been an incredible experience. Playing here has always been a dream for me and my team. The moment I stepped in, it felt surreal. This stadium is like the Lord's of India, and it is a matter of pride for all of us. Being in the same dressing room as some of our cricketing legends is a significant moment in our lives," Margray stated.

"We are grateful to DCCI and MCA for this initiative. Despite losing both matches, this experience has been invaluable for our preparation for the upcoming series. The opportunity to be at such a prestigious venue and experience the atmosphere has been life-changing," added Margray, an all-rounder from Anantnag, Kashmir.

Ravindra Sante, the captain of the opposing team, echoed similar sentiments. As a player from Mumbai, Sante has played at Wankhede before but described this experience as unique. "Having played in various prestigious venues, including Ahmedabad and Lord's, this is a different feeling altogether. I appreciate the efforts of DCCI and MCA for providing us this opportunity. Playing at the same venue where India won the 2011 World Cup is a significant milestone for all of us," Sante remarked.

"We've had young players asking questions about the venue, and I've advised them on how to track the ball against the background. With a series against England coming up, this experience serves as perfect preparation for us," he concluded.
