Gorakhpur Infra Boost: Gorakhpur’s infrastructure is about to undergo a significant makeover as the new year draws near. Nine major road projects and four flyovers are expected to be completed by March 2026, creating a wide network of four-lane highways and flyovers across the city.
Officials claim that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s close supervision has caused the development process to pick up speed. Within the next four months, it is anticipated that all associated initiatives, which are now nearing completion, will reduce traffic congestion both inside and outside.
Large-scale road projects
The Nausad to Padleganj route, which will be the first six-lane road in the city, is one of the main attractions. With a scheduled completion date of March 2026, around 94% of the construction on this 5.10 kilometer road (cost: Rs 297.29 crore) is finished.
The first of the four-lane projects to open will be the Deoria Bypass. This 9.50 kilometer length (costing Rs 399.24 crore) is 95% finished and scheduled for completion in January 2026. Additional noteworthy road improvements include of:
The 1.80 km route between Padleganj to Betiahata (via FiraqGorakhpuri Chowk) is being expanded at a cost of Rs 277.78 crore.

From Bhathat to Banssthan: At a cost of Rs 689.35 crore, this 11.60 kilometer road—which is essential for access to Ayush University—is being upgraded to four lanes.

Bypassing District Jail: This 8.56-kilometer road, which cost Rs 369.04 crore, has made 96% physical development.

Flyover Finish
By March 2026, four significant flyovers are also expected to be finished:
98.84 percent of Khajanchi Intersection is finished.

Putting Agencies in Place
The Deoria Bypass is being managed by the Public Works Department (PWD) Provincial Division, while the rest road projects are being carried out by Construction Division Three.
