Gorakhpur: The property of former railway worker Chandrashekhar Arya, who is charged under the Gangster Act in relation to a Railway Group-D recruiting fraud, was seized on Thursday by the AIIMS police in a major crackdown on corruption. The mansion, which is situated in Shahpur’s Raptinagar neighborhood, is said to be worth around Rs 1 crore.
In the presence of AIIMS Station House Officer Sanjay Mishra and Deputy Tehsildar Devendra Yadav, the attachment process was completed. The police posted an official notice on the property after making a public statement by pounding drums in compliance with legal procedure.
The Background of the Case
The action is in response to a complaint of anomalies in the Railway Recruitment Board’s Group-D test that was filed at the Cantt police station. According to investigations, Arya falsely added his son Rahul Pratap’s name to the merit list by interfering with the appointment procedure.
After these claims were verified, Chandrashekhar Arya, his son Rahul Pratap, former railway worker Ram Sajivan, and his son Saurabh were charged with forgery on June 15. The police have identified Ram Sajivan, a resident of Shahpur’s Railway Model Colony, as the gang’s commander. As a result, all four defendants were charged under the Gangster Act.
Official Declaration
According to SP City Abhinav Tyagi, Arya’s hometown is Barhpar Nasratpur village, which is located in the Ghazipur district’s Sadat police station region. He reaffirmed that the government would keep up its tough stance against assets obtained via fraud and organized crime. Details on the other defendants in the scam’s moveable and immovable assets are now being gathered by the police.
