On the morning of 15th December, Sambhal Police received such information which shocked the entire department. There was news of two abandoned bags lying on the outskirts of the city. When the police reached the spot and the bags were opened, the scene inside was soul-stirring. The bag contained pieces of severed human body, but neither head nor legs. Every effort was made to erase the identity, but the murderer had made a big mistake. A name “Rahul” written on the hand of the dead body became the link in the whole matter.

One month old murder, rotten dead body and big clue

Police investigation revealed that about a month had passed since the murder. The body was badly decomposed, making identification almost impossible. But the tattoo on the hand changed the direction of the investigation. When the police started searching the old missing records, a name came up - Ruby.

Missing persons report and false identification

Ruby, a resident of Chandausi, had reached the police station some time ago and lodged a missing report of her husband Rahul. The police called him to identify the body. On reaching the police station, Ruby said as soon as she saw the decomposed body, “This is not my husband's body.” But the police already had the photo of the tattoo. Mobile location and call details were scrutinized. A photo was found from Ruby's mobile, in which the same name of Rahul was clearly visible on his hand.

Ruby broke in front of strictness, revealed the whole truth

After the evidence came to light, Ruby could not lie for long. During strict interrogation, she admitted that she along with her lover Gaurav had murdered her husband Rahul. Even the police officers were surprised to hear this confession.

Night of 18 November, suspicion, quarrel and murder

Ruby told that on the night of 18-19 November, Rahul had suddenly come home. He already suspected his wife of illicit relations. As soon as he reached home, he saw Ruby and Gaurav in a compromising position. There was a lot of controversy on this. Rahul threatened that he would defame the entire locality. Due to this fear, Ruby and Gaurav conspired to murder Rahul. As soon as they got the opportunity, both of them attacked with iron rods and took Rahul's life.

Dead body cut with grinder, pieces thrown in bag

The biggest challenge was to dispose of the dead body after the murder. Next morning Ruby bought polythene bags and electric grinder from the market. After this both of them chopped up Rahul's body. The head and legs were severed to prevent identification. The body pieces were thrown in different areas, while some parts were washed away in the Rajghat Ganga, about 50 kilometers away.

SP's special team solved the case

Sambhal SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi formed a special team in view of the seriousness of the matter. Ruby kept changing her statement again and again, but scientific evidence, mobile data and technical investigation revealed the whole truth. At present the accused wife Ruby and her lover Gaurav are in jail. This case proves once again that no matter how vicious the crime is, some mistake or the other puts the murderer behind the bars.
