A male tourist nearly missed his flight after accidentally sending his passport onto a baggage conveyor belt while checking in for his flight at Singapore’s Changi Airport.

In a video that has since garnered more than 177,000 views, TikTok user Walkerkensg uploaded a 54-second clip on Dec. 24 showing how he placed his passport on top of his luggage while attaching a baggage tag, before unknowingly sending it down the conveyor belt, Asia One reported.

In the video, his boarding pass can also be seen sandwiched between the pages of his passport, Stomp reported.

After checking in his luggage, Walkerkensg walked away from the conveyor belt before realizing that his passport was missing.

A second video he posted shows him approaching airport staff and asking for help to retrieve the document.

He showed ground staff footage of the incident as proof and eventually recovered his passport in time to catch his flight to China’s Shenyang.

Walkerkensg said in the video it was “one of the stupidest things I’ve ever done”.

Many netizens were amused by the incident, commenting that he was lucky that Singapore airport staff are efficient.

Changi Airport was named the world’s best airport for 2025 at the World Airport Awards organized by London-based aviation consultancy Skytrax.

Many travelers rated airports on their experiences at various stages of their journey, including check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security, immigration, and boarding.
