Lucknow: Yogi Government on Monday gave news of big relief for the youth preparing for Police Recruitment in Uttar Pradesh. On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, candidates have been given age relaxation of three years in direct recruitment of UP Police and Jail Department. This decision has been taken for direct recruitment-2025 for constable and equivalent posts. The government says that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the interests of the candidates, so that more and more eligible youth can participate in the recruitment process.

Under this decision, a total of 32 thousand 679 posts will be recruited. This includes posts like Reserve Civil Police, PAC and Armed Police, Special Security Force, Women Battalion, Mounted Police and Jail Warder. The mandate has been issued and the application process is going to start soon. According to the new system, now the maximum age limit for male candidates of general category has been increased from 22 years to 25 years, while for female candidates of general category this limit has been increased from 25 to 28 years. Whereas the maximum age limit for male candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes has been increased from 27 to 30 years and for female candidates from 30 to 33 years.

It has been clarified by the government that this age relaxation has been provided specifically for one time and its benefit will be available to candidates of all categories. In the last few years, due to delay in the recruitment process, many candidates had crossed the age limit, such youth will get a second chance with this decision.
