Gave advice to Congress which is continuously losing, Mukim expelled from the party

Congress has expelled former Odisha MLA Mohammad Mukeem from the party. Odisha Congress President Bhakta Charan Das has said that Mohammed Mukeem was involved in anti-party activities, hence he is being thrown out of the party. Mukim had expressed concern over the continuous defeats being faced by the Congress and said that the party needs brainstorming. The organization should consider leadership change. Mohammad Muqeem had demanded that Priyanka Gandhi be given a place in the central leadership and new leaders in the party be given preference. In a letter written to Sonia Gandhi, he had requested for major changes in the party.

Mohammad Muqeem said on his expulsion from the party, ‘I came to know that I have been expelled from the party. I had taken the right step after thinking carefully. We are such a big party, but we are not able to connect with the people in every state. We are not able to win the elections. Congress is getting smaller. Therefore, as a true Congress worker, I thought that the High Command was not meeting us and we were not able to talk to them. So I wrote a letter to Sonia ji and told her my views. I had only given suggestions on the truth and need for reform in the party. Later it came to the media and when asked I told the truth. Rahul ji himself says ‘don’t be afraid’, I told the truth to the party’s high command, but I was expelled.
 

Why was Mohammad Muqeem expelled from the party?

Mohammad Muqeem had written a letter to Sonia Gandhi. He had said that Mallikarjun Kharge has become old, the party leadership should give a chance to the youth in his place. He had demanded the removal of Mallikarjun Khargo. He had said that Mallikarjun Kharge is 83 years old and the party should bring forward young leaders.

Mukim had written, ‘Congress is going through a difficult phase. In recent elections, there have been big defeats in Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra and Kashmir. There has been weakness within the party due to wrong decisions and leadership. He also complained to Rahul Gandhi that he has distanced himself from the workers.

What was written on Rahul Gandhi?

Mohammad Muqeem had written that when he was an MLA, he wanted to meet Rahul Gandhi. Tried for 3 years but couldn’t find it. The party is not able to take care of its workers.

Odisha Congress President Bhakta Charan Das criticized Mohammad Mukeem and said that those raising questions on his leadership should join BJP. On this occasion, BJP also took a dig at the internal strife of Congress.

 

 

Who is Mohammad Muqeem?

Mohammad Muqeem has been in controversies before also. He was suspended from the party in 2023, but later withdrew. In 2022, he was convicted in a case. He could not contest elections in the year 2024. His daughter Sophia Firdous is now the MLA from his seat.
