More than a month has passed since the results of Bihar Assembly elections were declared. Prashant Kishor, who is seen on TV every day during the election campaign, is staying away from the limelight. He had promised to come to power in Bihar, but his party could not win even a single seat. In Bihar, Prashant Kishor’s party Jan Suraj had contested the elections against both the India Alliance and the ruling NDA, but now with one step he has come into the limelight.

A report in the Indian Express has claimed that Prashant Kishore has recently met senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Leaders of Congress and Jan Suraj are avoiding saying anything on this but it is a topic of discussion in political circles. The friendship between Congress and Prashant Kishor is not new but when it broke, it broke with great bitterness. From then till now, Prashant Kishor has become a frequent critic of Congress.

Relations between Congress and Prashant Kishor are very tense

During Bihar elections, he had said that Rahul Gandhi’s ‘vote theft’ campaign and Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is not an election issue in Bihar. Jan Suraj Party suffered a big setback in the elections. The party could not stop anywhere.

Will Prashant Kishor come closer to Congress after failure?

Jan Suraj Party fielded candidates on 238 seats, but did not win even a single seat. The deposits of 236 candidates were confiscated. Congress’s performance was also poor. Congress contested elections on 61 seats and won only 6 seats. Congress had got 19 seats in the 2020 assembly elections.

PK has a long relationship with Congress

Prashant Kishor was the first election strategist and has a long association with the Gandhi family. After being expelled from Janata Dal United (JDU) in the year 2021, he had proposed to strengthen the Congress. Talks moved forward in 2022. In April 2022, he had revealed his plan in front of many big leaders including Rahul and Priyanka at Sonia Gandhi’s house. Prashant Kishor was then ready to join Congress.

After all, why did Prashant Kishor withdraw from Congress?

According to a report in the Indian Express, Sonia Gandhi had formed an ‘Empowered Action Group’ on his advice. Prashant Kishore was offered to join it. Prashant Kishore had refused it at the last moment. They wanted more rights and freedom.

Congress had issued a statement saying that Prashant Kishore rejected the offer. In response, Prashant Kishor said that the party needs leadership and willpower more than his needs, so that the problems of Congress can be rectified. Many senior Congress leaders were against allowing an outsider to make such a big change. Relations deteriorated since then.

What are the new speculations?

The meeting of Prashant Kishore and Priyanka Gandhi is considered very different. There is talk in political circles that Prashant Kishore and Priyanka Gandhi are working on a new strategy. News of tensions between Rashtriya Janata Dal and Congress have also surfaced several times. Now people are saying on this meeting that it is possible that Congress is also looking at the option of RJD.
