Banking services will remain halted for four days, customer problems increased due to strikes and holidays

If you have any important bank related work in the last week of January, then be alert from now on. The holidays and the proposed strike together have created such a calendar that bank branches across the country, including Bihar, may remain locked for four consecutive days.

In Bihar, operations in government and private banks are likely to be affected for four consecutive days from January 24 to January 27.

• January 24: Fourth Saturday of the month
• January 25: Sunday
• 26 January: Republic Day (National Holiday)
• January 27: Possible nationwide strike of bank employees

Due to these holidays and strikes, there is a possibility that transactions in bank branches will come to a complete halt.

Why the bank employees strike?

Bank employees' organization United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has called for a one-day nationwide strike on January 27 in support of their pending demands. The main demands of the strike are as follows:

• Implementation of 5 working day week in banks
• Resolution of pending issues related to employees
• Improvement in increasing workload

The organization says that if the government and bank management do not pay attention to their demands, a strike will be inevitable.

Which services will be affected?

If the strike occurs, these banking services will be directly affected:

• check clearance
• Cash Deposits and Withdrawals (At Branches)
• Draft and Passbook Update
• All other branch-based services

These facilities will remain operational

However, the matter of relief is that:

• ATM services
• Internet banking
• mobile banking

Expected to operate as normal, although ATMs may be short of cash at some locations.

When will banks open?

Banks will reopen from January 28 after holidays and strikes. In such a situation, customers are advised to complete their important banking tasks on time, so that any kind of inconvenience can be avoided.
