
New Delhi, 7 January. There was a huge uproar during the bulldozer action against illegal construction in Turkman Gate area of Old Delhi after midnight on Tuesday. The miscreants pelted stones at the police team, in which five policemen were injured. Now the police have taken action against the stone pelters and have also detained 10 people after registering an FIR against unknown people.

Delhi Police is identifying the stone throwers with the help of CCTV footage and body camera recording. The FIR is currently against unknown people, although the police have identified four to five suspects. The FIR has been registered under sections to rioting, assault on a government employee and preventing a government employee from performing duty. 10 people have been detained and further investigation is underway.
Police controlled the situation
Central Range Joint Commissioner Madhur Verma said, ‘During the demolition, some miscreants tried to create disturbance by pelting stones. The situation was immediately brought under control thoughtfully and using minimum force, thereby ensuring that the situation returned to normal without any tension.
The statement further said that Delhi Police is committed to maintaining law and order, while also ensuring that all judicial directions are implemented in a legal, professional and sensitive manner.
Encroachment removed by employing more than 30 bulldozers
Delhi Police Deputy Commissioner Vivek Aggarwal said, ‘This case was pending in the High Court for a long time. Following the order of the High Court, this action was taken by deploying more than 30 bulldozers. It was an area of approximately 36,400 square feet. There was a two-storey wall around it and a single-storey structure was built above it. The mosque land is safe. Adequate police force was provided. Senior police officers were also present at the site throughout the night. Our team was given complete security. An incident of stone pelting took place at night, but the police was fully prepared.
