Preparation for assembly elections in Tamil Nadu
Chennai. Political activities are increasing rapidly in view of the upcoming assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. This time, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) led by Chief Minister MK Stalin has proposed to contest only 32 seats from ally Congress, while there are a total of 234 members in the Assembly.
Dispute between DMK and Congress
DMK has decided to give less seats to Congress, due to which differences are expected to arise between the two parties. The Congress Party has expressed disagreement with this number considering it inadequate. In the last elections, both these parties had contested together, but this time the situation seems a little different.
Possible alliance with TVK
At the same time, DMK has also discussed a possible alliance with another party in Tamil Nadu, TVK (Tamil Milli Kadi). With this new political direction, DMK is trying to strengthen the voter base. Its objective is to form a broad coalition for electoral success.
