Lucknow. Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav targeted the BJP government over changing the name of MNREGA. He said that in true sense, BJP’s aim is not only to change the name of MNREGA but to make it ‘Ram-Ram’. BJP cannot see anyone else being fed except itself.

Akhilesh Yadav wrote on social media X, what will happen by changing the name of MNREGA, in fact this is a secret conspiracy of BJP to gradually end MNREGA. On one hand, the BJP government is reducing the budget of MNREGA to the minimum, while on the other hand, so much pressure has been put on the states to spend money that due to not getting money from the Center in the ‘GST system’, how will the states, which are already struggling with empty treasury, be able to arrange additional budget. They themselves will get busy in ending it.

He further wrote, ⁠On the third hand, by putting hundreds of gram sabhas in ‘urban category’, their budget has also been killed by the BJP government. In true sense, BJP’s aim is not only to change the name of MNREGA but to make it ‘Ram-Ram’. BJP cannot see anyone else being fed except itself. The poor say today, they don’t want BJP!
