Vice President of India CP Radhakrishnan on Wednesday released the book “Sing, Dance and Lead: Leadership Lessons from the Life of Srila Prabhupada” written by Hindol Sengupta at a function held at the Vice President’s residence in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Addressing the gathering, the Vice President described India as a civilizational leader whose traditions have emphasized leadership based on consistent values, service and internal discipline. He said the life of AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada stands firmly in this tradition, exemplifying leadership based on purpose, humility and moral clarity.

The Vice President said that in a rapidly changing world, the thoughts and teachings of Swami Prabhupada are more relevant than ever. He said that Swami Prabhupada established institutions that would continue to serve humanity for generations to come. He further said that the real testament to his leadership lies in the fact that even though many may not know his name, millions of people around the world are inspired by his actions and his lasting impact.

He reminded that Swami Prabhupada, even in his old age, made extraordinary travels across continents, carrying with him not only a religious philosophy but also a lifestyle based on discipline, devotion and joy. Referring to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, founded in 1966, he said its global success was proof that leadership was based not on authority, but on conviction, service and clear vision.

Highlighting the main theme of the book, the Vice President said that ‘Sing, Dance and Lead’ expresses the powerful idea that leadership can be joyful, participatory and deeply human. He said that Swami Prabhupada led not by command, but by inspiration, and built lasting institutions while remaining steadfast in simplicity and devotion.

The event was attended by Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Founder and Chairman of Akshaya Patra Foundation and President of ISKCON Bangalore Madhu Pandit Das, Vice Chairman and Co-Founder of Akshaya Patra Foundation and Senior Vice President of ISKCON Bangalore Chanchalapati Das, along with senior officials, scholars and invited guests.
