PM Modi discussed with AI startups, emphasis on innovation potential!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with Indian AI startups in the morning at his official residence 7 Lok Kalyan Marg on Thursday. The meeting comes ahead of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, which is scheduled to be held in India next month.

In this meeting chaired by PM Modi, 12 AI startups who have qualified for AI for All: Global Impact Challenge participated and in this they told about their ideas and work.

In a statement issued by the PM’s office, it was said that these startups are working in healthcare, multilingual large language models, material research, data analytics, engineering simulation and other areas.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of Artificial Intelligence in bringing change in the society.

He said that India will host the India AI Impact Summit next month, through which the country will play an important role in the technology sector. Also said that India is trying to bring change using AI.

The Prime Minister emphasized that startups and AI entrepreneurs are co-creators of India’s future and said the country has immense potential for both innovation and large-scale implementation.

He further said that India should present to the world a unique AI model that reflects the spirit of “Made in India, Made for the World”.

The Prime Minister said that the world’s trust in India is the country’s biggest strength. For this reason, Indian AI models should be ethical, fair, transparent and based on data privacy principles. Also said that India can promote affordable AI, inclusive AI and affordable innovation globally.

He also suggested that Indian AI models should be unique and promote local and indigenous content and regional languages.

The meeting was attended by CEOs, heads and representatives of Indian AI startups including Avtaar, BharatGen, Fractal, GaN, GenLoop, Gyani, IntelliHealth, Sarvam, Shodh AI, Socket AI, Tech Mahindra and Gentik. Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Minister of State Jitin Prasad were also present in the meeting.
