News India Live, Digital Desk: In today’s busy life, we want everything quickly – quick success in career, reaching home quickly and now eating ‘quickly and tasty’. In this context, these days a word is being heard a lot on social media and in the kitchen – ‘One-pot Meal’. If you are thinking that this is a very exotic dish, then wait! This is the modern name of a simple technique that has been prevalent in our homes for centuries. After all, what is this? You can call it ‘the magic of a pot’. As the name suggests, cooking all the ingredients (vegetables, pulses, rice or meat) in one pot, cooker or pan. Our Khichdi, Pulao or South Indian Bisi Bele Bhaat are great examples of this. Nowadays, its style has changed a bit and it has also included pasta or Mexican bowls. Why is Generation Z liking this trend? You must have noticed that today’s youth (Gen Z) are liking this trend a lot. There are some solid reasons behind this: Utensils do not become a mountain: this is the biggest happiness! No one is fond of scrubbing utensils in the sink for hours after cooking. In this, only one vessel gets dirty, that’s it! Tremendous time saving: After getting tired from office, when you feel like eating something homemade and healthy, then there is nothing better than ‘one-pot meal’. Everything gets balanced: You can add protein of your choice and lots of vegetables in the same pot. This means you get a complete diet with less effort. It is also economical: This method not only saves gas or electricity, but is also perfect for those people who live alone and want to stay within the budget. It is not just laziness, it is also healthy. Many people think that quick meals are unhealthy, but this is not the case with ‘one-pot meals’. When you cook everything in the same pot on low flame, the goodness of the spices and vegetables meld together. Vitamins don’t go anywhere, they remain trapped within your food. So what will you make today? Be it a dish of oats, a vegetable pulao or Italian-style one-pot pasta – the effort is to halve the effort and double the taste. So next time you come home tired and don’t know what to cook, remember, you only need ‘one pot’.
