In this series, famous Bhojpuri film singer and actor Ritesh Pandey has broken ties with political strategist Prashant Kishore’s Jan Suraj Party. Ritesh has created a stir in the political circles by resigning from the primary membership of the party. Ritesh Pandey informed about this decision by sharing his resignation on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). He wrote in his emotional message that he participated in the great festival of democracy as a responsible citizen, but the election results were not favourable. Despite this he has no regrets about his efforts.
“It is difficult to serve in a team”
In his post, Ritesh clearly said that now it has become difficult for him to serve the public by being an active member of any political party. He wrote that with the love and support of the public, he has reached this position from an ordinary farmer family and with the same confidence, he wants to continue serving the public but without any party bond. He said, “It is very difficult to work as an active member of any political party, hence I have decided to resign from the membership of Jan Suraj Party.” Ritesh expressed hope that his supporters will understand his decision.

Ritesh Pandey started his political innings with great enthusiasm. He was associated with Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj campaign just a few months before the elections. Expressing confidence in him, the party had made him a candidate from Karghar assembly seat of Rohtas district. However, the election results were not in his favor. JDU candidate Vashishtha Singh won this seat and Ritesh lost by a huge margin of 35,676 votes. Since this defeat, there were speculations that Ritesh might reconsider his role in the party.
