Mercedes-Benz India has expanded its ultra-luxury portfolio with the launch of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS Celebration Edition, priced at ₹4.10 crore (ex-showroom). This special edition brings subtle exterior enhancements and richer cabin upgrades to the already opulent SUV. Importantly, Mercedes-Benz has also announced local manufacturing of the Maybach GLS in India, a move that has reduced its price by over ₹40 lakh, making it comparatively more accessible in the ultra-luxury segment.

Under the hood, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS Celebration Edition is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine delivering 557 hp and a massive 770 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, ensuring smooth yet powerful performance. Thanks to this setup, the luxury SUV sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, while its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

Inside, the Celebration Edition focuses heavily on rear-seat comfort. It features two individual executive rear seats, a full-length centre console, and an integrated MBUX rear tablet for added convenience and control.

The SUV also gets the Manufacture Leather Package, which uses premium Nappa leather on seat cushions, executive seats, and even the roof liner. Additionally, the Manufacture Exclusive Leather Package extends matching leather finishes to the window frames and side instrument panels, elevating the sense of craftsmanship.

The Mercedes-Maybach GLS Celebration Edition is loaded with high-end features, including:

• Burmester high-end 3D surround sound system with 29 speakers

• 1,610 watts of audio output with customizable Dolby Atmos

• Seat climate control and multi-contour massage seats

• 9.6-litre refrigerated compartment in the rear armrest

• Dedicated Maybach champagne glass holders

• 360-degree monitoring system, anti-theft alarm, and emergency key deactivation

For superior ride quality, the SUV comes equipped with E-Active Body Control, a fully active suspension system that enhances comfort, handling, and even off-road capability.

On the outside, the Celebration Edition retains Maybach’s iconic two-tone paint finish. The bold presence is further highlighted by chrome-finished vertical slats on the grille, reinforcing its unmistakable luxury identity.
